For the concealed carry course, it’s crucial to equip yourself with high-quality gear that ensures safety and reliability.

Holster requirements:

  1. Quality Holster: Ensure your holster meets stringent quality standards. Avoid SERPA-type holsters and floppy nylon variants.
  2. Inside or Outside Waistband Pistol Holster: You have the option to choose between inside or outside the waistband pistol holsters, provided they meet the specified criteria.
  3. Placement: Holsters must be worn on the strong hand side of your body. Both inside and outside the waistband options are allowed, excluding SERPA type, cross-draw, shoulder, ankle, or belly-band style holsters.
  4. Strong Side Hip Holster: Opt for a sturdy holster designed for strong side hip carry. It should securely hold your firearm while allowing for easy access.
  5. Reinforced Holster Opening: The holster opening must be reinforced, facilitating one-handed re-holstering for enhanced safety and efficiency.
  6. Rigid Concealed Carry Belt: Equip yourself with a rigid concealed carry belt. This provides essential support and stability, ensuring your holster remains securely in place.
  7. Not Permitted Holsters: Avoid soft or non-ridged holsters, including nylon, cloth, and leather-only variants. These lack the necessary rigidity and security for effective concealed carry. NO SERPA holsters allowed.
  8. Kydex Holster: Rigid Kydex holsters are permitted. These materials offer durability and retention capabilities necessary for safe firearm carry.
  9. Red Dot Optics: Ensure any red dot optics are properly zeroed before the course begins to optimize your shooting performance.
  10. (Recommend) Support Side Magazine Pouch: Alongside your holster, bring a support side magazine pouch. This ensures you have quick access to additional ammunition if needed.
  • Remember, students must arrive equipped with a rigid belt and a Kydex holster suitable for strong side or appendix carry. Should you require assistance in sourcing equipment, feel free to reach out well in advance of the class date. Lastly, consider wearing multiple shirt layers for added discretion during drawing exercises.
