Tennessee Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit (CCW) – Level 1 Concealed Carry Class

With six hours of intensive interactive coursework and an additional two hours dedicated to range time for shooting and training, our course fully satisfies the prerequisites for applying for the Tennessee Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit. Throughout this comprehensive program, participants will gain proficiency in handling both revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.



Here’s what you can expect to learn in our course:

  • Mastering Safe Gun Handling: Understand essential safety protocols, pistol components, ammunition management, and proper pistol operation.
  • Sharpening Shooting Skills: Learn shooting fundamentals, range etiquette, and practice shooting from the two-handed standing position.
  • Maintaining Your Firearm: Receive guidance on cleaning and maintaining your pistol to ensure optimal performance.
  • Continued Skill Development: Engage in ongoing opportunities to refine your shooting skills and enhance proficiency.
  • Enhancing Situational Awareness: Explore strategies for heightened awareness and proactive threat assessment.
  • Understanding Defensive Firearms Concepts: Acquire knowledge of defensive tactics and techniques for effectively responding to potential threats.
  • Navigating Legal and Ethical Considerations: Gain insight into the legal and ethical responsibilities associated with carrying and using a firearm in self-defense situations.

Please note the following logistics for the course:

  • A 30-minute lunch break is provided. Participants have the option to bring their lunch or dine out, but the timeframe is non-negotiable and cannot be extended.
  • Class capacity is limited to 20 students, with a minimum enrollment requirement of 5 students for the class to proceed.

Essential materials include:

  • a minimum of 100 rounds of ammunition (although up to 70 rounds may suffice, depending on caliber, location, and student),
  • an unloaded and cased firearm (bring your own or rent one of ours), and
  • personal eye and ear protection (bring your own or purchase on-site).

Reschedule/Cancelation Policy:

  • Customers are allowed ONE class reschedule if the request is made at least 2 days before the ORIGINAL class date stated on the order. Any additional rescheduling attempts will not be accommodated and will result in the forfeiture of the class fee.
  • Cancellation requests must be submitted at least 2 days prior to the ORIGINAL class date indicated on the order. Failure to reschedule or cancel within this timeframe will render the student ineligible for a refund.
  • In the event that The Gun Store and Range cancels a lesson, we will collaborate with you to determine a mutually agreeable future class date. However, the aforementioned policy will still apply to any subsequent cancellation or rescheduling attempts.
