Veterans Security Armed Security Guard Class

In compliance with Tennessee state law, individuals aspiring to work as armed security guards are mandated to fulfill specific armed guard registration prerequisites before being permitted to carry firearms while on duty. This course is tailored to meet the training criteria outlined in Tenn. Code Ann. ยง 62-35-118 (b) for those seeking to obtain an armed security registration card.

This comprehensive course is divided into distinct segments. Firstly, participants undergo unarmed guard training, equipping them with foundational skills. Subsequently, they engage in classroom instruction, delving into crucial topics such as the authority, duties, and legal obligations inherent to the role of security guards/officers. This segment also covers Tennessee’s use of force laws, gun safety protocols, and the proper selection and utilization of weapons and equipment.

The final segment of the course is dedicated to live fire training conducted on the range. During this practical session, participants gain hands-on experience with firearms, enhancing their mindset, marksmanship, and manipulation abilities. Additionally, defensive shooting tactics, techniques, and procedures are emphasized to ensure comprehensive preparedness in real-world scenarios.
